About the event
Many adoptive parents are navigating deep questions around identity, behaviour, bonding, and trust. If you’ve ever wondered, “Is this trauma?” or “Am I doing enough — and doing it right?” this workshop is for you.
Adoption begins with separation. Even when children are welcomed into loving families, early experiences of loss can shape how they respond to relationships, stress, and belonging. These experiences may show up later as anxiety, control battles, emotional outbursts, withdrawal, people-pleasing, or questions about identity.
In this practical, research-informed workshop, you will gain a deeper understanding of how adoption and early trauma influence your child’s brain, emotions, behaviour, and sense of safety. We will explore why certain behaviours emerge, how attachment develops after early disruption, and what children truly need from their adoptive parents in order to feel secure.
