Children with sensory sensitivities often struggle to communicate what they are experiencing, making it difficult for them to express discomfort or explain their reactions to sensory overload. This can lead to feelings of frustration, emotional outbursts, withdrawal, or avoidance of activities they find overwhelming. Without the ability to articulate these challenges, they may feel misunderstood or unsupported, which can negatively impact their behavior, emotional regulation, and overall well-being.

As parents, we have the responsibility to help our children navigate the world with their sensory sensitivities, equipping them with the skills and tools they need to live well-adjusted, fulfilling lives. The fact of the matter is however that we can't effectively support and teach them these necessary skills unless we first understand the challenges they face. By gaining insight into how sensory sensitivities influence their emotions and behavior, we can help them better cope with everyday situations and feel more confident in themselves.
